The Quality Control Department, without which our products would not be so enjoyable

Quality control at Agronom Berries is a multi-stage process that begins in the field with careful management of fruit production and the proper use of plant protection products. It then includes the inspection of fruits during harvesting to ensure their optimal ripeness and absence of damage. After harvesting, the fruits that reach the warehouse are re-evaluated and then cooled.

Subsequent stages involve thorough quality control during sorting and packaging, where the fruits are assessed by experienced workers based on approved specifications. The final process is the verification of finished products and their release for shipment. This ensures that the fruits leaving our warehouse are properly packaged and that their quality is at the highest level.

What does the Quality Control Department do?

Our team is responsible for comprehensive quality control within the company. Starting with the meticulous verification of all raw materials supplied by vendors, we check their parameters, compliance with specifications, and shelf life. Next, we monitor the production process to eliminate potential sources of errors or product defects. We also develop new recipes and standards for introduced products to meet customer expectations regarding quality and properties. Finally, at the management level, we establish procedures and guidelines as part of the company’s quality management system, audit and oversee all elements of the production chain that affect the final product’s parameters. We make every effort to ensure the highest quality at every stage, from raw material deliveries through the production process to the finished product reaching customers.

What does a quality worker's working day look like?

Each day of our work as quality control specialists begins with assessing the hygienic condition of the production halls. If everything is in proper order, operators receive the green light and can proceed to start the machinery and production lines. The next step is preparing the appropriate raw materials and labels according to customer orders. During production, we continuously monitor product packaging on all lines, controlling the weight, quality of the fruits, condition of the packaging, legibility of the markings placed on the packages, and overall orderliness. Simultaneously, we regularly check incoming deliveries, ensuring they strictly meet quality standards and customer specifications. Otherwise, the goods are rejected. Our work is full of surprises, and we often face unforeseen challenges. However, we always give our 100% to ensure the highest quality of production.

Cooperation with other departments of the company

We collaborate with virtually all departments in the company; however, production is of key importance to us since it is where our products are created. From our perspective, this is the most crucial stage because we have a direct impact on the quality of the packaged products. 

We also closely work with the sales department, discussing orders, current issues, customer requirements, and submitted specifications. 

The work of the quality department extends beyond the company—we maintain constant contact with the quality departments of the trading networks to which our products are delivered, as well as with suppliers. Thanks to our partnership-based cooperation at every stage of the supply chain, we can ensure the highest quality of our products.

Our company has implemented an Integrated Quality and Food Safety Management System based on the requirements of the IFS Food International Featured Standards. This standard is used for auditing product and production process compliance in terms of food safety and quality, as well as the GLOBALG.A.P CoC standard. 

Compliance with international food safety standards confirms that our company adheres to strict norms that guarantee the highest quality of the offered products.
