On June 6, 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting academic staff from leading agricultural universities in Poland – including Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), University of Life Sciences in Lublin, Poznań University of Life Sciences, and the University of Agriculture in Kraków. Our facilities in Zienki and plantations in Pasieka became a place of intensive knowledge and experience exchange on modern technologies in strawberry cultivation.
During this special Open Day, we presented our innovative covered plantations where we implement a hydroponic system. Thanks to this advanced cultivation method, we can precisely control plant growth conditions, minimizing water and fertilizer use while maximizing the quality and yield of our fruits.
We also showcased an experimental field with new strawberry varieties, which are the result of research conducted by our Head of Experiments and Plant Breeder – Karol Milaniuk. His team works on varieties with better taste parameters, increased disease resistance, and a longer fruiting period – features essential to meet the demands of the modern market and climate changes.
“We believe that the future of strawberry cultivation lies in varieties that are not only tasty but also resistant and efficient,” emphasized Karol during the presentation. “Our research focuses on finding the ideal balance between consumer expectations and the requirements of modern production.”
Guests also had the opportunity to tour our production hall, where we showed the entire process – from harvesting, through sorting using modern optical systems, to packaging. We highlighted the use of technologies that allow us to maintain the highest quality of our products while ensuring efficiency and sustainable development.
The culmination was the tasting of test strawberry varieties that may soon enter the market. Together, we sampled fruits that combine innovative features of varieties selected with the future of agriculture in mind.
The Open Day is not only a presentation of achievements for us but, above all, an opportunity to build scientific and industrial partnerships and jointly seek the best solutions for agriculture. We are pleased that we can inspire and share knowledge, developing modern cultivation methods and creating new strawberry varieties that will revolutionize the industry.
